Meredith and Gavin | Ohio Statehouse Wedding

A couple in a wedding space at The Ohio Statehouse

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless beautiful moments of love and commitment. Whether it's the charming love story of the couple, the stunning wedding venue, or the pleasant weather that sets the perfect backdrop for our shots, there's always something about the day that makes me love what I do all over again. Meredith and Gavin’s Ohio Statehouse wedding was a celebration full of love, happy tears, and hearty laughs. I enjoyed documenting every second of their big day.

Meredith And Gavin's Ohio Statehouse Wedding

Coming across genuinely warm and loving couples like Meredith and Gavin is always a delight. Their infectious positivity and radiant smiles were a joy to witness, from the initial exchange of glances to the last dance. The majestic Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio, provided an awe-inspiring backdrop for their wedding vows. It was truly an honor to capture each fleeting moment of their extraordinary celebration.

To begin with their big day, Meredith and Gavin chose to start their wedding preparations at the LaVeque Tower in Downtown Columbus. As Meredith got ready with her bridesmaids in a room, Gavin buttoned his suit and looked dashing with all the final touches in place. While there was some laughter and group shots happening on the girl’s side, there was anticipation and excitement felt on Gavin’s end.

All ready to say, “I do,” Gavin and Meredith had the sweetest first look. Dressed in white with a beautiful bouquet in her hands, Meredith walked up to Gavin. The happiness on Gavin’s face was evident; he was over the moon to see his bride. Amidst the day's whirlwind, this wonderful pair made sure to carve out time for couples portraits. I always appreciate when couples prioritize these intimate moments. It not only gives me the opportunity to capture extraordinary photos but also offers the couple a precious moment of privacy amidst the celebration.

Our journey through the expansive Ohio Statehouse felt like an adventure, as though we were exploring multiple locations in a single day! From dreamy spiral staircases to modern lounges and beautifully designed balconies, there were countless picturesque backdrops for our photo session. One of my absolute highlights was when we stepped outside. Embracing the moment, my delightful couple decided to take a leisurely walk down the road (of course, we were mindful of safety rules and precautions.) What I loved most was how they simply let go, forgot about the camera, and just enjoyed being their authentic selves.

Meredith And Gavin Tie The Knot

Meredith and Gavin had a Jewish wedding with all their loved ones in attendance. The aisle was decorated with fresh flowers, and chairs were placed on either side for guests to sit. I have never seen such a beautifully decorated chuppah before. I’m talking about twinkling fairy lights, lush green leaves, and roses in abundance! It was such a pretty sight. Continuing with the festivities, I photographed some more moments of togetherness with the newlyweds. We walked around the property and found so many stunning spots to include in their wedding photos.

For their reception, the couple planned for an elegant yet super tasteful wedding decor. Each table was adorned with delicate linen,  polished cutlery, and candles. Their vendors came from all over the country, and it was one of the most high-profile weddings of my career! Before the guests began to arrive, the bride and groom made their entrance and spontaneously started dancing. In no time at all, everyone joined in with the newlyweds, transforming the dance floor into a lively scene of merriment. With the band hailing from Nashville, the reception was filled with infectious laughter, joy, and an unforgettable whirl of dancing.
