Sid And Sanjana | Irongate Equestrian Center

As an experienced wedding photographer, I have photographed hundreds of weddings and they are all unique and fabulous in their own way. I get to witness different wedding ceremonies and hear all the beautiful love stories from many cultures, each of which has its own wedding traditions. However, there are two things that are common in all weddings - the love and joy that are present throughout the day (or sometimes, many days) when a couple celebrates surrounded by friends and family. This Indian wedding at the Irongate Equestrian Center was absolutely magical. I spent four days with the couple and their loved ones and captured all the happy memories and moments, including the haldi, sangeet, wedding ceremony, and reception!

Sid And Sanjana’s Indian Wedding At Irongate Equestrian Center

I had a blast photographing Sid and Sanjana’s 4-day Indian wedding. All the ceremonies and rituals leading up to their wedding day were so inspiring and fun and I loved being a part of it all. On the first day, and as per tradition, the bride and groom had arranged for a haldi ceremony. This is where turmeric (haldi) is applied to the bride and groom’s body as it is believed to cleanse and purify the body, mind, and soul. With friends and family dressed in bright yellow attire, everyone took turns applying turmeric on Sid and Sanjana’s faces. The most heartwarming moment was when their parents gave their blessings and sprinkled flower petals on the couple. It was so sweet!

The next day, Sid and Sanjana’s epic multi-day wedding continued with some pre-wedding rituals. The venue was decorated with yellow and white garland, gracefully hanging from each corner. Sanjana and Sid truly nailed their pre-wedding ceremony decor and each spot was so picturesque. I got the opportunity to take so many photos in front of all the picture-perfect settings. As the rituals continued, the couple’s near and dear ones bestowed their blessings and before we knew it, it was time to party!

Also known as a sangeet (music and dance) ceremony, Sid and Sanjana’s pre-wedding celebrations carried on with special dance and music performances…and what a night it was! When I say the party had a lot of singing and dancing, I mean there was literally a whole day dedicated to just that. Showing off his dance moves with his boy squad, Sid took over the dance floor and owned his choreography. Taking over the party next was Sanjana who had a great time twirling in her lehenga (three-piece attire) and had the brightest smile on her face.

And then came the big day - Sid and Sanjana’s wedding day. Sitting and waiting patiently in her chair as she got her makeup done, Sanjana was ready to marry Sid! Styled in a rich golden saree (an Indian ethnic apparel), Sanjana looked like an absolute goddess. Sid and Sanjana had a first look before their ceremony and looked so excited to start their new beginning together. As the ceremonies and celebrations proceeded, I made sure to capture every special moment from their wedding ceremony. There was so much love and happiness in the air, making my job easy.

With flowers in their hands and garlands of red roses around their neck, Sid had some fun as he blew petals on Sanjana’s face, giving me a picture-worthy moment to photograph. Sanjana’s smile said it all and I just loved seeing how these two enjoyed every second of their special day. Once their ceremony was over, I whisked away the bridal party for a few group and couples portraits. They were awesome to work with and looked sensational in their traditional outfits. Sid and Sanjana’s love was evident in every picture and I loved EVERYTHING about their wedding.
