Nicole & Drew’s Ohio Statehouse Wedding

The grandeur, elegance, and beauty of the Ohio Statehouse are some of the things that wow me each time I visit this stunning venue. Photographing my couples at this perfect location is always a joy, and I got the opportunity to shoot at this amazing place yet again when Nicole and Drew chose it as their wedding venue and gave me the honor to be their wedding photographer. Nicole and Drew’s was an incredible winter wedding, which was even more special since my beautiful couple had to reschedule their big day at least 4 times due to the pandemic. So, when it finally happened, they made sure it was just flawless! What a gorgeous wedding these two had, and the opportunities I had of capturing every little detail and special moment into my camera to create memories that will last a lifetime brought me immense joy as a creative! Nicole and Drew had a beautiful ceremony at the Trinity Episcopal Church, followed by a reception at the Ohio Statehouse. Both the venues were spectacular - and that just meant I had two exquisite settings at my disposal to create some memorable images for my charming couple. From tastefully designed indoors - be it the grand staircase or the French windows - to the cityscape outdoors, everything looked just perfect, and the images turned out to be exactly how I had envisioned them - romantic and classy!

Nicole and Drew make such a sweet couple, and I had done their engagement photography in Washington DC, where they live. I had truly enjoyed their company then and had so much fun with them during the shoot, and this time around, too, my experience was no different. On their wedding day, this lovely couple was so happy and excited throughout the day. For me, it was such a blessing and so satisfying to see them in high spirits. Seeing the bride and groom have a great time just made my day - because when my couple is relaxed and happy, my job as their photographer becomes that much more easier! And a happy couple also means that everyone present at the wedding is up for a great time as well.

From capturing the getting-ready moments of my bride and groom into photos to taking their solo portraits when they were all set for the next wedding activity, from creating their pictures with the bridesmaids and the groomsmen to the first look, there wasn’t a single dull moment at this wedding. There were peals of laughter, merriment, and a flow of pure emotions - moments that were a pleasure to document. Creating my couple’s photos amid all the picturesque settings and against the beautifully lit backdrops was highly satisfying for me. And, honestly, I loved how my couple’s love shone brighter in these images. They looked so perfect and truly made for each other. As a photographer, this is what I always want for all my couples - stunning images that depict their true bond as they soak in the wedding festivities and are lost in each other’s love on a day that is marked for celebrating their union. Moments like these just make me love my profession even more and motivate me to keep polishing my skills to give the best possible experience and photos to my couples.

One thing that was totally the highlight of the day, besides my gorgeous couple, was the decor. It was just unbelievable! Petals & Leaves did the draping in the Statehouse Atrium and Hughie’s did the lighting on the pillars. Milo’s Catering took care of the delicious food, the linens, and other rentals, and Bluewater Kings Band had a string trio at cocktail hour. Collaborating with all these amazing vendors at the wedding was great, and I loved showcasing their beautiful work through my images. Also, these are the services that my couple chose with so much heart and effort that they completely deserve a place in the wedding album.
