Shahnaz & Isaac | Franklin Park Conservatory Wedding

Weddings are extra-awesome with fun and easy-going couples. There's nothing quite like capturing the joy of a happy couple on camera as they enjoy their big day. Shahnaz and Isaac were that kind of couple  - fantastic, fun, gorgeous - they made my job as their wedding photographer so much easier with their cool vibe and contagious energy. The wedding venue they chose for their big day was the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus Ohio in the Palm Room and it was the perfect place for a fairy-tale wedding. It was overall a great experience for everyone involved in the celebration.

Shahnaz and Isaac’s Wedding Day

Shahnaz and Isaac's wedding at the Franklin Park Conservatory was nothing short of amazing. Having photographed their engagement session, I already knew this amazing couple. They were from San Diego but, with Shahnaz’s ongoing residency for med school in Columbus, it was a natural choice to get married here.

The day began with the details and the getting ready pictures. I caught a close-up of Shahnaz’s emerald ring - so unique! Also, I was blown away by how stunning the bride looked in her wedding dress! The train was perfect for the sweeping curve of the staircase we used for the bridal portraits. Shortly after those photos, the couple had a beautiful first look and I could see they were both excited. It was an absolute pleasure to capture this special moment between the radiant couple.

The Conservatory is visually such an incredible space, and there’s no shortage of unique angles, architecture, and locations where I can capture photos during a wedding. From the soaring ceilings to the walls of glass that overlook the park, it’s stunning inside and out. The light streaming in through the windows was simply gorgeous, and the greenery added a lovely contrast to the clean lines of the room. I had a great time photographing all the moments between my couple as they were so in love, completely focused on each other, posing naturally and not shy about smiling. There's something about a relaxed and laid back bride and groom that makes the day even more enjoyable.

At the ceremony, Shahnaz and Isaac were surrounded by friends and family who were all excited to celebrate their special day. There was such an air of happiness and love in the room - it was truly moving. The Palm Room was the perfect setting for everything; filled with lush palm trees and beautiful flowers, it was a truly romantic atmosphere. The wedding ceremony was beautiful, and I could tell that the two of them were deeply in love.

The jungle of greenery throughout the ceremony and reception site, combined with the unique architectural elements of this venue, were, in a word, magical. The speeches, the toasts, and the dancing were a joy to capture, and I was SO excited to get some night shots outdoors with the pumpkin wall and the venue lit up! The evening flew by after that, with me capturing photos of guests dancing and celebrating the union. So many happy memories were made.
