Powering Up: South Central Power Advertising Shoot

As much as I love photographing weddings, engagements, and senior sessions, I’ve also had the privilege of extending my photography services to the corporate and commercial world. I recently had the opportunity of working on another South Central Power advertising shoot. And I must say, it felt amazing visiting the company’s office and employees yet again! I have documented South Central Power’s top-notch services for the past five years and conducted various shoots for them, including events, headshots, and more. Recently, I did another advertising shoot for the power company! Here’s a glimpse of all the hard work that the company’s professionals put in to ensure a continuous flow of electricity to all residents in Ohio.

South Central Power Advertising Shoot

You might be surprised to find out that South Central Power Company is Ohio's largest electric cooperative, serving over 123,000 customers in 24 counties. Their service area spans over 12,000 miles of energized power lines, making it possible for homes, businesses, and farms to have access to reliable power. However, the infrastructure doesn't maintain itself. Engineers, electricians, and other working professionals are out there every day, rain or shine, setting up road lights and installing and repairing underground power lines.

During the shoot, I aimed to focus on the strategic planning that goes into this line of work, as well as the employees' passion for their jobs. The images I created were to be used for the company's website, social media, a monthly magazine, and other applications. Thus, it was essential to showcase the different aspects of their work. One of the highlights of the shoot was getting to see the workers in action as they repaired and installed massive transformers. The employees were friendly and helpful, and they taught me a thing or two about Ohio's underground utilities and how the company maintains its infrastructure.

Furthermore, I was given access to take pictures of professionals working inside the power-control rooms, where engineers and technicians went about their work. The atmosphere was intense, with the constant hum of machines and the steady flow of data on screens. Even in that high-pressure environment, the employees were focused and dedicated to their work. They took the time to explain what they were doing and why it was so essential to keep the power flowing to customers.

Throughout the shoot, I was struck by the passion and dedication of South Central Power's employees. They work hard to ensure that the people of Ohio have access to reliable power, and it shows! They take pride in their work, and it looks like they genuinely enjoy what they do. In addition to capturing the professionals at work, I also wanted to showcase the equipment and technology they use. It was impressive to see the massive machines up close and to understand the intricate details of their operations. From installing road lights and digging up the ground to laying down underground power lines, South Central Power Company has invested in the best technology to make their work as efficient as possible.

Working on an advertising shoot for South Central Power Company was a great experience. It was an incredible experience to witness firsthand the hard work and dedication of the company's employees as they maintain Ohio's power infrastructure. From the professionals working in the power-control rooms to workers repairing massive transformers and experts strategizing on their next big projects, everyone I met was passionate about their work and committed to providing reliable power to the residents of Ohio. South Central Power Company's employees are the backbone of the power infrastructure in Ohio, and it was an honor to capture their dedication in pictures.
