Annie & Brad's Engagement Shoot At The Wells Barn

Gorgeous greenery, clear skies, crisp air, and well-maintained pavements, Annie, Brad, and I had everything going for the engagement shoot three of us planned together at The Wells Barn in Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Columbus. Inspired by plant designs of the New York's High Line, the wonderful horticulture scheme for the Wells Barn celebrates native Ohio greenery, which makes it an exquisite venue and every photographer's dream. The place offered so many amazing backdrops; it was difficult not to stop for a picture at every two steps. And with the added beauty of The Wells Barn, the images reflected the romance and bond that I was hoping to document.

The Wells Barn Engagement Photography

All my clients are happy couples. Why wouldn't they be? They are about to start such a beautiful new journey together, and Annie and Brad were no different. These two were so in love, and I really enjoyed how comfortable they were with the camera around them too. Their happy faces made my work so much easier and our session super lively. The Wells Barn was such a refreshing place and exuded rustic vibes, the essence of which I also captured in Annie and Brad's portraits.

My couple wore two different outfits for this session (I love it when my couples put in that extra effort!). Annie donned a lovely orange dress, and Brad put on a navy-blue suit for their first one. Both of their attire added a pop of color to the images. Their second outfit was an easy-going, super casual, denim look. These two indeed were a stylish pair. Also, a huge shout-out to the majestic trees that provided the much-needed shade from harsh sunlight at some of the spots.

Besides how wonderful my couple was, I just couldn't get over the stunning venue they had chosen to mark this special occasion. The arches, covered with vines, were the perfect additions to my couple's portraits. They doubled up as natural frames and helped me create some pretty great compositions. I am so glad I got to add different elements of nature in all their glory to Annie and Brad's engagement photos. I have to mention the picture-perfect hedges too. They almost made it seem like we were in the middle of an enchanted forest, and I took full advantage of that too!
