Hocking Hills Wedding | Esther and Samuel

For some couples, like Esther and Samuel, the wedding day is a family affair. With their closest family members included in the wedding party, my couple got married surrounded by nature in Hocking Hills, Ohio. The ceremony was held outdoors and thankfully, the weather was on our side. The tall trees in the woods filtered the natural light, which was perfect for taking portraits and ceremony photos of the couple. With such gorgeous outdoors and lighting, I knew I had to take advantage of what Hocking Hills had to offer, and Esther and Samuel, if you are reading this, thank you so much for being such great sports about doing that mini-hike in the woods in your wedding attire!

Esther And Samuel’s Hocking Hills Wedding

Since my bride and groom wanted the wedding to be a family affair, all the bridesmaids were actually the bride’s sisters, and they all shared such a beautiful bond. On the other hand, the groom had chosen his young son as his best man, which was such a sweet sight at the wedding. The best man was definitely dressed and prepared for the role. We also went to Rock House in Hocking Hills for the formal photo shoot.

The bride’s father was so emotional, and seeing them share some tender moments on the wedding day, especially during the first look and first dance, was incredibly heartwarming. I am really glad I got to capture those moments in their true form. The bride’s father even did a little musical performance during the ceremony.

When The Woods Call

After the wedding ceremony, I took Esther and Samuel aside for couples portraits. While they are ideal for a wedding ceremony, the scenic woods of Hocking Hills are also perfect for couples portraits. There is just something so romantic and enchanting about them, and I wanted the photos to not only reflect the beauty of the landscape around but also bring out the chemistry between my couple. They posed so effortlessly, and I loved how accommodating they were about my requests to keep moving around the woods for more couples portraits.

The reception at the Ravenwood Castle was an equally warm and close-knit affair. The toasts were so much fun, but it was probably Esther and Samuel’s dance moves that took all the limelight. One of the most memorable moments happened after the traditional dances, when the bride also danced with the best man. It was so sweet watching the little guy making sure that he got all the moves right.
