Wedding At The Ohio State University Faculty Club | John & Annie

’Tis the season of summer weddings! And love, celebration, and beautiful outdoor wedding venues. So as a wedding photographer, I am all geared up to capture photographs that hint at the true essence of delicate moments and the whiff of summer air. John and Annie's wedding at The Ohio State University Faculty Club was just the perfect blend of it all. The venue, the couple’s clothes, and the decor - there was no doubt that each detail was meticulously planned. What’s more? The couple and I shared the same zest for experimenting with posing. The result: a gallery of stellar wedding photographs.

John & Annie's Wedding At The Ohio State University Faculty Club

When I am photographing weddings, it’s never just about documenting the people or places but also about photographing a story unfold. And this is one of the best parts of being a wedding photographer. You get to narrate the love story of your couples through photographs. Photographs that are more than just mementos - they are glimpses of honest moments. And when I look back at John and Annie's wedding photos and recall the memories of their wedding day, one specific emotion stands out - and that’s JOY.

From the getting ready moment until the wee hours of the reception party, one thing that was evident from the couple’s happy faces was the feeling of shared joy. With stolen glances, insider jokes, and hard-to-hide blushes, these two lovebirds were so unapologetically in love. Making it all the more fun to capture all these intricacies of emotions in photographs.

The couple decided to get married at The Ohio State University Faculty Club. And the venue worked as a perfect choice. From an outdoor ceremony space and scenic arenas to splendid architectural grandeur, the venue was everything one can perhaps ask for in a summer wedding. Even more so as a wedding photographer. A generous mix of indoor and outdoor spaces allowed ample freedom to experiment with both natural and artificial lighting.

Moreover, the well-decorated walkways made for a gorgeous location for the first look. But what made it surreal was the moment John set eyes on his bride, Annie. It was blissful to capture that reaction and see them blend into each other’s arms for a teary-eyed hug. Another memorable bit about the day was the wedding portraits. Circling back to the fact that this couple is naturally good at posing. Thanks to a great venue choice, there were multiple spots and photography ideas that I wanted to give a shot at. And after hearing me out, John and Annie adhered to my cues so flawlessly and full of excitement.

In addition to all these moments, one of my favorites was when the guest approached the reception hall and the party took over. To be precise, it was the couple’s first dance. As the DJ played their song and the lights cued on them, it was as if magic happened on the dance floor. And with that, it was a wrap!
